Guidance and training to beginners and runners of all ages and abilities. Beginners need no experience, only a desire to achieve a running goal. Experienced runners who need some variety or are looking to train smarter are also welcome.

Basic training is in and around Jack Muller Park, Boston or via WhatsApp. The advanced runners get to traverse Tygerberg.

The majority of runners eventually become members of the Bellville Athletic Club (Road, Cross Country and Trail Division). Members of the club train for R375 for 3 months.

You are welcome to try out the training before you decide to join.

Certificates are awarded to runners who complete the majority of the training and manage the following times:

Beginners:
5 km – sub 1 hour 30 minutes
10 km – sub-two hours

Intermediate:
Half Marathon – sub 3 hours

Advanced:
Marathon – sub 5 hours
Ultra marathon – within the given time period provided by the race organisers

Pricing

Level Per Month Programme Description
Beginners R550 for three months, paid in advance Beginners sign up as members of Die Skilpad Bende (The Tortoise Gang). They train as a group, three times per week. The goals are 5 km and 10 km races. Anyone is welcome.
Intermediate R550 for three months, paid in advance Prerequisite: must be able to run a 10 km in less than 1 hour and 45 minutes. This group trains for a 15 km or Half Marathon.
Advanced R550 for three months, paid in advance Prerequisite: must be able to run a Half Marathon in less than 2 hours and 25 minutes. This group trains for a Marathon or Ultra Marathon.

Fees are per 3 (three) months or part thereof.
